Local Attractions - What To See & Do
Gardens
The main attraction is the National Botanical Garden of Wales which is just 4 miles away. Aberglasney Gardens are also well worth a visit (9 miles) and further afield (but still within an hours drive) are Colby Woodland Gardens, Clyne Gardens , Picton Castle & Gardens and Margham Park .
Castles
This is what Wales does best. The romantic ruin of Dryslywyn Castle is just 6 miles up the Towy valley. Dinefwr Park & Castle is just outside Llandeilo. Other impressive sites within 20 miles are Llansteffan, Kidwelly, Carreg Cennen and Laugharne.
Towns
Carmarthen is our closest town (within 4 miles) whilst Llandeilo is a few miles further up the valley. Also within 30 miles are Llandovery, Tenby and the city of Swansea.
Areas to Explore
We are ideally situated to explore the wider area. Within a 3/4 hour drive we have the Brecon Beacons to the east, the Gower Peninsular to the south and Pembrokeshire to the west. Head north into lesser known country and you have Brechfa forest and Llyn Brianne.
Activities
If walking and hiking are your thing, then try the western Brecon Beacons,
the Wales Coast Path or Waterfall Country.
Cyclists have the Swiss Valley or Celtic Trails and if you prefer it a bit rougher there are top mountain bike trails around Abergorlech and Sennybridge.
Ffos Las Racecourse is 14 miles to the south and Pembrey Motor circuit only 16 miles.
